While there are a plethora of reasons why I believe I decided to get into the home based business industry I think there are a few things that stand out amongst them. I'll probably churn out a few more reasons later but for now these will do... Here goes...
I get to... well... WORK FROM HOME:
This may seem like an "Oh Duh!" reason but I think there is more that goes into that. For example, someone generating $60,000 a year from home compared to someone generating this at their job is a staggering difference. Mainly because you can take that $60,000 so much further while being based at home. I think about the 40 miles to work I drive each morning and the apparent depressing drain that has on my 'usable' income. Clearly, there's no need to mention the pocket raping gasoline is employing upon us right now. Going further... the lunch or breakfast I need to purchase if I was too lazy to get up early enough to make beforehand. This probably happens more often than I would like but I'm getting better! Being somewhere I'm not necessarily comfortable at is another aspect and I probably won't mention that the people aren't always my favorite people. Working completely from home doesn't require an extensive wardrobe... while I'm on that point... my new clothes would stay newer longer because the lack of wear and tear. If an individual didn't want to buy a car they wouldn't HAVE to. (I'm in Houston so that may not applicable here.) Basically working from home keeps your expenses down and you can use that capital towards advertising or other business development practices all from the comfort of your underwear.
I can work from ANYWHERE:
This, I believe, is another self-explained statement. For content sake allow me to elaborate... With a computer, internet connection, and a phone I can work my home based business from ANYWHERE with a signal. This is even easier for me because I have access to all I need in my little cell phone which can fit comfortably in my pocket. There is no need for me to BE somewhere, in some place, or building if I don't want to be. I'm a free spirited busy body so it's natural for me to want to mobile.
I don't have a BOSS:
BIG for me! All my life I've had a problem with authority. Not that I don't respect authority or anything, it's just I hate when people abuse it or use it to attempt to manipulate. Since we are human beings I come to realize it will happen from time to time. I, personally, just choose to keep the chances as far at bay as possible. This can also be a bad thing for some people too... Free spirits like me tend to drift on tasks and need accountability. With that being said, a good support group or accountability partner will be great for most us.
VERY LOW OVERHEAD:
Those of you who have run a traditional business before know what I'm talking about. I was looking at some stats that showed the average cost of a franchise is approx. $158,000 initially then you have you worry about employees, pay roll, additional taxes, inventory, real estate, paying fees, inspections, yada yada yada... In a home based business the most difficult part is finding one with a franchise-like system that's simple to follow but the overhead is no where close. Not to mention it's suggested that you have at least 18 months of living expenses set aside before you start a traditional business because you're not looking even profit until almost your 3rd year. Home businesses range anywhere from $50 to $20,000 initially and that's get you a fully structured company that handles your payments, accounts receivables, deliveries, basic customer service, marketing material, product/service training, legal stuff, and so on and so on. Any additional overhead will just go towards increasing exposure and skill... SWEET DEAL!!!
I can WORK VERY PART-TIME!
This is probably one of the biggest privileges... With the ability to create full-time income with no cap on a part-time basis is HUGE. So much of our decisions are based on our income and when our income is based on time we have to take away time from the people we love and the things that matter most in order create substantial income. Follow me!? In the home based business arena you have available to you the tools and business structures that allow you to leverage yourself in EVERYTHING. At my job I get paid when I show up and work... Only when I work! My job income is linear and completely relies upon me, my effort, my ability to be there, to train others, to solve the problems & etc... Mind you I have no problem with either of my responsibilities but I do realize the vulnerability of it. In my home business many of my responsibilities can be outsourced or leveraged... my income is residual it comes whether I physically show up or not. My customers pay each and every month (mainly because they literally can't live without my product/service). I can go on all day but I think you get the point... for less than 20 per week you can make gangster money legally!
This is why I chose to work from home... why wouldn't you!?
